If one building had to
be chosen to
represent the character of Mevagissey, it would have to be The Watch
House. This iconic building is perched on the rocks between the inner
and outer harbours, and has no doubt featured in almost every
photograph and painting of the harbour area. Exploring the house
feels like exploring the village itself – the narrow hallway twists
and turns, with rooms at several levels; steps drop down to a series
of rooms on the lower floor, or you can climb up the stairs to the
highest level, the viewpoint, with its stunning views out to sea and
over the harbour.
The Watch
House has been completely
renovated over the last few years without losing any of it's original
character, and is decorated throughout with stunning paintings and
sculpture. It is available to rent between May and Sept of this year,
to people who are looking for something a bit special; somewhere
completely unique....... |
